Working with the Site Switchboard Widget

The Site Switchboard Widget ia used to update DCMS Site Preferences. Personalize your DCMS site with a custom web page Masthead or Banner. The Site Switchboard also allows the Admin User the ability to manage and personalize alert message notifications.

To Edit a Widget

To edit or change the contents of a Widget, use the appropriate Text Boxes to add information. The white Text Boxes are "optional" text fields, which do not need to be filled in. The yellow Text Boxes are "required" text fields, which the system needs for other application uses. The gray Text Boxes are filled in by the DCMS system, and cannot be changed. The table below outlines the functionality of the Site Switchboard Widget components.

Site Name
The name assigned to the DCMS account.

Enable Analytics
Reserved for future DCMS use.
Expiration Date
The date that the DCMS service expires.
Support Phone No.
Optional Field - a phone number of the office or individual that the Site Administrator would like to notify, when DCMS communications is interrupted. The phone number format must be entered as (###)###-####.
Communication Alert Default Timeframe
Optional -- enter a length of time(in minutes), which the system retries to restart the DCMS data logging process, after communications is interrupted. In our example, if communications is not reestablished within 30 minutes, an Alert message is displayed in the Event Watchdog Widget.
Alert Service Active
Select check-box to begin the Alert service.
Communication Alert Default Message
Text Message used for the Alert Service.
"Text Box"
Enter text message.
Lower Left x-Coordinate
Latitude coordinate of the DCMS Site map.
Lower Left y-Coordinate
Longitude coordinate of the DCMS Site map.
Upper Right x-Coordinate
Latitude coordinate of the DCMS Site map.
Upper Right y-Coordinate
Longitude coordinate of the DCMS Site map.
Banner File
Select a web graphic file (.jpg, .gif, or .png) to personalize the banner or masthead of your DCMS site. Preferable graphic size is Width: 980px and Height: 80px
Use Default Banner
Select check-box to use the default Econolite banner graphic, as the site masthead.
Banner Image
A thumbnail image of your selected banner. If the thumbnail image does not appear in the graphics box, the image format is most likely not in an accepted web graphic format.
Refresh
Click Refresh to view selected banner image.

 
Save
Select Save to update the DCMS Site Preferences.
