Group Manager Widget User Guide
Working with Group Manager Widgets
DCMS.2 allows the organization of "Groups" of detection devices. Monitoring a large number of vehicle detection devices can be organized in Groups, to remotely manage a vehicle detection network. Specific traffic data can be monitored continuously, by creating "Groups" of detection devices. For example, the Group Manager Widget allows the creation of a Group of detectors, which collects data from only the westbound traffic along a major arterial corridor, or traffic data can be collected from a Group of all four approaches of a single intersection, or from a Group of turn-lane detectors only.
To Create Detector Groups using the Map Widget
DCMS.2 also allows the creation of Groups using the Map Widget. See the Map Widget documentation for more information.
The table below outlines the functionality of the Group Manager Widget components.

Detector Groups
From the pull-down list, Select a Detector Group. |
Group Name
The Group Name is displayed when a Detector Group is selected. To enter a new Group Name in text-box, Click on the New button. |

New / Copy / Rename / Remove / Save
Click New button to create a new Detector Group.
Click Copy button to create a duplicate Group, which can be used as the base to add or remove Detectors from the duplicate Group.
Click Rename button to change the Selected Group name.
Click Remove button to Delete the Selected Group record from the DCMS.2 Database.
Click Save button to add the New Group record to the DCMS.2 Database. |
Description
The Group Description is displayed when a Detector Group is selected. Use the Description text-box to enter a description for a New Group. |

Direction
Select a Direction of traffic movement, associated with the (new) Group - Eastbound, Westbound, Northbound, or Southbound. Click the Show button to display the list of Detectors associated with the Direction. |

Add Detectors
Click on the Add Detectors button to add more Device Detectors to the Group. A new Device selection Web browser window appears, Select a Device from the pull-down list. Click on a Check-Box to include the associated Detector(s) to add to the Group's Detector list. Click OK and the selected Detectors are added to the Group. Click Save to update the Group.
