Device Video Widget User Guide
Working with Device Video Widgets
The Device Video Widget allows the User to view Streaming Video from a specific video device, which is used at the intersection or on the roadway for vehicle detection. DCMS.2 uses Apple® QuickTime™ player "plug-in" and the Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP), to allow the Device Video Widget to view a remote streaming media server and its streaming media content. The Device Video Widget does not include the ability to add new streaming media content. See the DCMS.2 administrator to use the Device Manager Widget to add available streaming media content.
To Edit a Widget
To change elements of the streaming video use the following controls,
The QuickTime Controls are found in the pull-down menu at the bottom-right corner of the streaming video window. QuickTime Controls provide the ability to adjust the settings of the streaming video or saving the video as a QuickTime file. These features will require the purchase of Apple QuickTime Pro software, to work properly. Adjusting the "Plug-in Settings" can result in unexpected results or lost video feed, when viewing the streaming video.
To restart the streaming video feed from the selected video device, click on the Refresh link located in the top-left corner of the Device Video Widget window. Streaming video will restart from the point in time that the Refresh link was Clicked.
To Pause the streaming video feed from the selected video device, click on the Pause button located in the bottom-left corner of the Device Video Widget window. To restart the streaming video Click on the Play button, and the streaming video will restart from the point in time that the Play button was Clicked.
To Edit a Widget, click the green "circle" button on the Widget Control Bar. An "Edit Settings" window appears to show the Widget's settings or preferences. Change the settings, and then click OK button to show updated Widget view.
The table below outlines the functionality of the Device Video Widget components.

From the pull-down list, Select a Detector Group. Select the "Active" Detector Group to use the streaming video of the highlighted Device in the Map Widget view. |

Click OK button to view resulting Worksheet in the Worksheet Widget.
